I ~ The Dragon in the Dark

Posted by storyteller at 01:00 PM on March 15, 2005.

Aishira panted as she ran the halls of the palace. She was upset with her brother and she didn’t know what had gotten into her. Ashamed of herself, she dashed away from the council room after saying words she never meant to say. When she went outside she saw a large shadow on the floor that was blocking the  light coming from Endemion shining brightly in the evening sky. The shadow formed was of a dragon. She looked outside the open window and saw the dragon, its glowing red eyes fixed on her. She was sp frightened that she couldn’t even scream so she ran as fast as she could. But the dragon never left and even followed her. Every window and every chance Aishira can see the sky outside, the dragon was there.
Aishira ran inside her room and tried to ignore the dragon outside. The Black Dragon followed her to the other side of the palace facing her veranda. Cold droplets of sweat were trickling down her neck.  She closed her eyes praying that it would go away. She suddenly felt she was floating in the air and when she opened her eyes, she was outside the palace. Endemion was shinning beside her as if it was just an arms reach. In front of her was the Black Dragon, seeing it in its full form for the very first time. She was surprised to see the dragon and thought she would be scared. All the while she thought, it would be a fright to see the dragon as if it was a monster. True, it was all black and huge; however, it was not a monster. It looked mysterious and proud but not a monster that would kill or devour her.
“What do you want from me?” Aishira demanded.
“We need you and it seems that you also need us…” Uruha answered.
Aishira thought this was ridiculous, “I am not playing mind games with you. My life is already full of complications and here you are scaring me to death. You have made my life a living misery. I do not need this! Why can’t you just leave?”
“That is very haughty of you, if you only knew I can teach you a lesson you would never forget.” said Uruha who was taken aback by the girl’s answer.

“Nevertheless, I am the one who needs your help. We, the kingdom of Reiyu needs you…Gaea needs you”

Aishira could have fallen out of balance from the sky.
She laughed, “What are you talking about? How absurd! If my brother could just hear you. He would have said the same thing. I cannot do anything right. I can’t help you.”
Uruha did not seem to hear what she said, “You are called to prot ect our soon to be king. It is been said that the Sword-Maiden will come forth at her own will to help us.”
Aishira realized this was serious, “you must be mistaken. I cannot be that person. I am telling you I am not coming.” Aishira felt a surge of feeling she could not understand. She was having mixed emotions she could not comprehend. Why do I feel like I am lying to myself?
“It’s the souls of Gaea, they are calling you…they know you are just having second thoughts?” Uruha quietly answered. “You are faltering on your own.”
Aishira panicked at what she was experiencing, “I told you I am not coming! You can find another one…I can’t take this. I already have problems of my own, much less can I deal with problems of another kingdom!”
Uruha interjected, “You are the one! It is your destiny. We cannot do anything about it. What if I promised you a new life, a better life ahead of you….in Gaea? You can get away with your arranged marriage with Galan dela!”
“You are wasting my time. That is tempting, to get away from here is one thing I would have wanted, but no. it can’t be. You cant simply buy me by promising that, I could do better than that,” said Aishira uncertain with her own words.
“I understand you are afraid, but I promise to protect and save you. Just think about it. I came here just to warn you about your destiny.”
Aishira was speechless and just nodded; she noticed that Uruha was fading away. I do not have to think about it, the answer is no.
As if Uruha read her mind, his last words to her, “no matter where you go, no matter what happens it is your destiny to save the king. You will come forth to save Gaea.”
She woke up and she was on her bed. Its just a nightmare, she said to herself. She looked outside the window and saw Endemion shining solemnly. Beside it was Gaea, all dark and near its destruction. A shivering sensation crept in her, the same thing she felt last night. She could not believe it, “it’s the end of Gaea, everybody knows that, and I have nothing to do with it.” She tried to sit on her bed, but she was too weak to move. Her body was limp; she couldn’t even raise her hand. She had to use all her strength to rise but it was tiring. Even talking was so hard to do, her voice can only let out a soft whisper.
What are you up to?
Aishira’s mind spoke and heard Uruha’s voice saying, “it’s just a test to see how strong you are…you’ll see. If you overcome this…”
You’d leave me alone…Aishira butted in.
She heard a soft chuckle, “You still don’t get it do you? I see you in a few days, for the meantime think about everything I said.” In that instant moment, Aishira could not sense Uruha’s presence anymore.
The following morning, Elias softly knocked on the door, “Ellie? Can I come in?” there was no answer so Elias let himself in, the door was not locked. Last night, he thought of his sister and what had happened. He missed her and realized it has been a long time he called her Ellie. He was the one who gave Aishira’s second name, Ellie.  It was only he who calls Aishira by that name.  But when they are in an argument, he uses Aishira. He opened the door and saw that Aishira was already sitting up in her bed. She was not moving as if she was sleeping as she sat. He felt a shiver of fear as he seated on her bedside.
“Are you alright? I came to say I am sorry. I was a bad brother. I guess I have forgotten that I am your brother too. I thought to delay the wedding until you are ready. It’s the only way out for now. Besides I suddenly realized I was letting someone else take the most precious thing in my life away from me. I have been your father since our parents died. You are not just a sister to me. You are my child, like my own…” he stopped. Elias wasn’t sure if Aishira was listening. He reached for Aishira’s hand and it was cold. He panicked and shook Aishira.
“its okay brother. I will do what I have to do.”, Aishira murmured.
“you don’t have to…I will think of a way. don’t mind that…what’s wrong?” Elias was really getting scared. “are you okay?” he tried to hug her but her limp body dropped on the bed. Her face was white and she looked like a zombie.
“oh my Ellie! Ellie?!”
The whole palace heard their prince screaming his sister’s name. They were all alarmed what happened. Lord Alonzo and Lady Solaicca ran to Aishira’s room and saw Elias sobbing like a child. The two crept beside Elias and heard Aishira saying repeatedly, “its okay brother. I am fine…just weak” Solaicca almost shriek at the sight of Aishira.
Aishira looked up and said, “I am not dead, just weak.” Why is it so hard to explain to these people that I am just tired? How could I explain it to all of them that this is just some kind of a battle between an imaginary dragon and me.
She looked at her grandfather, the only person she told about her nightmares. She tried to mouth the word “visions” to her grandfather.
Lord Alonzo recognized the words visions and as he suspected it was the doings of an unknown power. He took Elias to a corner and told him everything about the fortuneteller. Elias cannot believe what he heard. He looked at Aishira who was looking at him as if she was saying that their grandfather was right. Elias could not think of other explanation to it. He sent for magical healers but none of them knew what it is. Aishira got better everyday and never failed to insist that none of the healers could heal her. She refused to say any details and just made an excuse that she could not speak.
“It’s neither a curse brother, nor a spell, believe me. I’d prove the dragon that he can’t convince me by doing this.” Aishira smiled awkwardly. “I am not afraid of the dragon. You don’t have to do anything. Just leave it. I’m getting better now, am I not?”
“Oh Ellie! I do not know what I would do if I lose you! it was so foolish to fight about getting married with some stranger. I am being punished. I didn’t know that somebody had done this to you. Are you sure you cannot remember where the dragon came from?” Elias said.
“No one is punishing you. I’m pretty sure I do not remember”, Aishira lied. This is my fight, this is different. My brother cannot do anything about this.
Solaicca came in bringing fresh flowers, “everybody is wondering how you are. There are rumors that she is seriously ill and whether the wedding is called off or not.”
Elias scowled, “why would I think about weddings at this time?” Solaicca’s face dropped.
“Galandela can wait!” Solaicca’s expression change to relief.
Aishira saw this, “Galandela will have their wedding soon enough. And besides its not my wedding they are talking about...yours”
Elias’ jaw dropped, “oh Laicca darling! I am so sorry! I was just so worried about Ellie…why has it ever crossed your mind that…”
“Of course I know,” Solaicca felt embarrassed. “I know how much you care for Ellie. And so do i. I understand, you have nothing to worry about. I’ll go ahead and finish some work.”
Elias was dumbfounded, “ah what a fool! She’s not jealous of you isn’t she?”
“No. she understands. But you know, you’ve been here with me for almost a week now. Never leaving my side. She misses you that’s all. So go to her I am fine”, Aishira explained.
“I guess. I have neglected her for quite sometime now. but I just wanted to be here. I cannot explain it. I have a feeling that will be parted….” His words faltered.
Aishira couldn’t help but feel the same way but she couldn’t tell it to her brother. “silly, because you and I are getting married soon, that’s why.”
Elias wasn’t sure of that, “I guess.”
“it is,” she wasn’t sure with her answer either.
Elias hugged her tightly and kissed her on the forehead, “I love you Ellie. More than you can ever imagine,”
Aishira couldn’t help a tear fall from her cheek. Why does it feel as if this is the last? She hugged him back and kissed his chin like she always did, “I love you too brother.”
The engagement party of Elias and Solaicca came. Aishira was better now as her color came back and she was strong enough to stand now. She faced the mirror and Uruha appeared and said, “I admire your strength”
“Are you going to leave me now? Do you really have to hurt people just to get what you want?” Aishira questioned.
“Not quite. I wont do anything to harm you or any of your loved one. its just you. you were struggling to your own personal beliefs.  You knew you can’t get away from your destiny. Who says I have given up. You just proved to me how strong your will is. Its one more reason to choose you.” Uruha answered in fact.
“You tricked me! You’d never give up, do you?” Aishira asked exasperatedly.
“No. We didn’t choose you. it was written in the stars. It is your fate, your destiny. I came to inform you about your destiny. You will come forth at your own will. Now, don’t go blaming me for anything bad that will happen. They are bound to happen,” Uruha warned her.
“What? What’s going to happen? Tell me!” Aishira suddenly was alarmed at what Uruha said.
“I am not to tell you what is in the future. It will happen. Just a warning. Keep your eyes open. I am always at your side; remember that, I am not your enemy. Farewell. We will be waiting for you…”

Little do the people of Felea know that the engagement ball was a trap amidst the festivities. Galandela’s ulterior motive was to massacre the royal family, with the help of General Ferreira. They skinned the Prime Minister Alonzo and pulled its silver hair. Galandela’s king raped the Crowned Princess Solaicca and murdered her in front of the prince Elias and princess Aishira. Ferreira tried to save her daughter and protested that hurting her daughter was not part of the plan. The barbaric Galandelans answered him with an axe cutting off his head. Elias went mad and they made him go crazy, when they tried to break the bones of Aishira. Aishira tried to break free, she tried to fly but they clipped her wings. A struggling Aishira was the last thing prince Elias saw of his sister. One soldier took a dagger and pierced the prince eyes. It was an excruciating pain. Tears flowed from his eyes, they were red and darkness filled his eyes. The next thing he knew he was on his knees crying in pain and heard a loud scream from his dear sister…a chopping sound then a splash from the ocean. Someone aproached Elias and took his hand and place something round. Their laughter even grew louder,
“Here’s your old man. Thought you might want some keepsake.”
Elias felt his heart was about to burst, he was holding his grandfather’s head.

Prologue: Alexandria

Posted by storyteller at 12:21 PM on March 9, 2005.

Alexandria
A beautiful girl with crystal-clear green eyes was walking towards a stoned stadium. It was called the court of Zvienne. She watched the bout that was taking place, and thoughtfully followed the movements of the younger woman jumping on top of the stones. The other one laughed and smashed the stone and quickly caught the ankle of the girl on top of it and held her down. The older woman took off her helmet, revealing a very handsome face, smiling triumphantly and threw her sword on the ground. She removed her feet on top of the girl lying flat on her back looking sullen. At her release, a mischievous smile played on the girl’s lips. She kicked her leg up and suddenly a scabbard went flying towards the older woman who was shocked and quickly darted away from the flying scabbard. The girl laughed.
“Wasn’t that unfair?” scolded the older woman. The beautiful girl was clapping her hand and said to the fuming lady, “I think it’s wonderful Louella!”
“You can’t be ganging up on me you two! AFTER ALL LADY SOLAICCA WE ARE COUSINS! You are supposed to be on my side,” exclaimed Louella.
She pretended to be annoyed as she was wiping the perspiration on her forehead. The sun was scorching hot but not even the sun could ruin her beautiful face. It even made her piercing brown eyes livelier under the gleaming sun.
“Blood isn’t always thicker than water…” the beautiful girl smiled teasingly.
“Oh! I forgot you are going to be sisters. You and this cheater over here.” Loeulla pointed at the girl who sent her to the stoned floor.
The girl took of her mask and showed a charming face.  She has a kind face with deep-set brown eyes. Her black wavy hair went almost everywhere as she laughed, “I happen to learn that from a certain person. Could that person be you?” she said with a wink.
“I can’t believe you are using the things that I taught you to beat me!”
Louella raised her two hands in her cry for protest. She turned her back to the girl and moved a few steps away.
“Sore loser!” the girl shouted back as she gathered the other lady warriors in a circle.
Louella sat beside her cousin smiling proudly, “She’s definitely the best warrior I have.”
“Why I thought you can’t accept your defeat?” Solaicca still was interested in teasing her cousin.
Louella rolled her eyes and pretended to be annoyed, “I still am!” Solaicca giggled. They watched the lady warriors fall in line and were answering the orders of the girl in chorus.
“Its hard to believe that you were once running and cunning around like these silly girls, in a few days you are to be crowned queen of Alexandria!”, Louella shook her head.
“Well I owe it to you my dear cousin”, Solaicca smiled sweetly.
“You are my greatest frustration! I want us to be together in the army. But well, I guess it wasn’t really for you. You are destined to be queen and I your humble servant.” the two paused and looked at Aishira dismissing the lady warriors. She turned around and looked at her general. Louella nodded and motioned her to hurry up.
“This girl, who who would ever thought she is the princess of Alexandria. A true-blooded one.” Louella smiled thoughtfully.
“Aishira definitely had come a long way. The King and Queen would have been proud of her.”
“Extra-ordinary, I must say. A princess, a warrior, the master of the dancing swords technique, and the most sought after princess of far away kingdoms. I do not know how Elias can manage her,” said Solaicca.
“Convince me what?” asked Aishira.
“Well, getting married and leaving me too!” Louella said as she looked at Solaicca and laughed.
“What did my brother told you this time? Has he arrived?”,
Aishira  asked Solaicca questioningly. Her mood suddenly became serious and somewhat irritated.
“You’ve been giving him ideas!”
Solaicca protested looking hurt, “He’s about to arrive…but I never said anything to your brother about that.”
“Wow, so is this some family feud already?” chirped Louella jokingly. The two eyed her and louella shrugged.
“I’m sorry Solaicca, you know how much my brother has been a major push over these days. Galandela is totally out of the question! Why did he have to make agreements with Galandela. Father hated Galandela!”
“Oh do I hear one of those famous complaints of my favorite granddaughter!” the former Prime Minister Alonzo appeared behind the rose bushes. He was a handsome old man with very thoughtful eyes. Aishira hugged her grandfather and started on spiting her older brother who is soon to be crowned as king.
The two other women greeted him. Alonzo laughed and just said, “Give your brother a chance. He is doing his best to protect Alexandria and of course protect his beloved little girl. Of course, also you Solaicca.”
Solaicca smiled understanding what the old man had said, while Aishira said nothing.
“I see, now she’s really in a bad mood,” teased the grandfather.
“Well, Solaicca, I think it would be best for you and Aishira to go out in the woods and have some fresh air.  I think I spoiled her afternoon and I do not want to cause any further damage,” he said, giving up to his granddaughter’s tantrums. He nodded to Louella and they started to walk towards the castle.
Aishira then realized, “what the?! He’s here, my brother is here!” and she dashed off before the three of them. She was fuming as she opened the door to the council meeting. The Seiryu council was there and the head of the council, Aishira’s brother stood up as he saw a girl approaching. Elias beamed happily “Ellie…”
“What now?” the girl hissed to his brother.
Elias was disappointed; he was expecting that his beloved little sister would welcome him warmly. Instead, here she was attacking him already. He sighed, his not going to let his sister get away with such nasty attitude. The past few months, her sister was nothing but a problem to him. He had lost her angelic little girl. Ever since their parents died, he took care of Aishira and he asked to himself, “and this is what I’ve got! She’s becoming a brat.” However, he knew very well that it all began when he started arranging matters with Galandela, whom they all hated. It was his last resort. They needed special mines to fuel the machineries in Alexandria. Only three planets could provide them such mines; Sola, Galandela and Gaea. They were not in good terms with Galandela and Gaea. Sola was their only source until Galandela took over Sola. This means they have to deal with Galandela.
“We are getting at it, “ignoring his sister. “Please continue Gen. Ferreira”
Aishira waved her hands in the air and sat on the seat beside her brother. Her grandfather and the other two just arrived with worried look on their faces. “No I haven’t eaten my brother alive,” she murmured to herself. Alonzo nodded to Gen. Ferreira who acknowledged his arrival, “As I was saying. Alexandria has agreed with the demands of Galandela: free trading…etc. And the marriage of the King Harmon’s son, Prince Esau to our princess, her royal highness, Princess Aishira.” everyone gasped and knew where this meeting was headed.
Aishira pretended not to notice and looked at the man whom she did not like. He was Solaicca’s father but never did she like this man and had always asked Solaicca how she can stand him.
After Gen. Ferreira’s announcement, he sat down with a triumphant smile playing on his face. Aishira did not give anyone a chance to speak,
“Wasn’t it obvious that this is some tactic? Why did Galandela took over Sola? They are after us and Sola was the key. Galandela would not gain anything from Sola except for an excuse to get near us. They know how valuable Sola is to Alexandria and they want us to come begging for help.  Now why would we let ourselves get involved with such people?”
“We do not have another choice, “said her brother quietly without looking at her.
This is it, he said to himself. She is starting to argue with me in front of everyone. They might as well leave; they know the cue.
“Don’t start it Aishira!” Elias gave her a warning look.
Everyone was uneasy now, the bashings of the two siblings is about to begin, everybody knows how the princess and the crowned prince argue on many things.  One by one, the council left, leaving the two generals, the soon to be king’s fiancĂ©, the former prime minister, and the royal siblings.
“Oh yes we have!” Aishira blurted out.
“What could it be? Save Sola!? I know what you are thinking. Believe me I have thought of that! However, it’s too risky to win Sola over Galandela. They have all the power resources and what we have is meager enough just to survive, can’t you understand that?” retorted Elias. “I guess you have better ideas dear sister?!”
“How could you have disregarded father’s stand about this? He would have chosen Gaea over Galandela!” Aishira answered lamely. She knew her brother was right but her brother is asking too much.
“For heaven’s sake, Aishira! Gaea is out of the question! Haven’t you heard what happened to Gaea?”
“Father loved Gaea!” Aishira retorted.
“You say too much but you! You know nothing!” Elias stood up and pounded his fist on the table in front of Aishira.
“Aishira, you must know…”
Elias interrupted, “there is no use in explaining to her Grandfather”
“What should I know?” Aishira eyed her brother.
“Its about time Elias…” Lord Alonzo quietly said.
“What?”
“I believe this is where I should come in. I think she should know now Elias.” replied Gen. Fereira.
Both Solaicca and Aishira looked at the general.
“You were still in your mother’s womb when me and your father had several expeditions in Gaea. At that time then Gaea and Alexandria were allies. In fact your father was very close to the crowned prince Nicholas. We were helping them against Galandela. On our last expedition to Galandela, we were in different troops. My troop was assigned to watch over the Galandelan fleet in Shihota. Unfortunately  we were gravely attacked even before we arrived in Shihota. While your father’s troop was sent to the island of Andrucusia. It was a special assignment requested by the King of Gaea. They asked him to search for a book. Gaeans rarely set foot on those land because it was cursed. That is why your father was asked to go there. But unfortunately he never came back. We tried to search for him but we failed to find him. Until one da,y we found one of your father’s men trapped inside a cave and he was already dying. He said that he was the only one who escaped because King Remus sent him to bring the sword to her soon to be born daughter and said,
“I am afraid I will never see the day i could protect my daughter. Give this to her as a sign of my love. My love will protect her wherever she may go.”
And with that the soldier said, Remus was devoured by a dark and monstrous shadow and disappeared. With that, the connection between the two kingdoms ended.  ”
Solaicca couldn’t believe what she heard.
Lord Alonzo sighed and continued the story, “Nobody knows what happened to your father, the body has not been found. We thought it would be best for Alexandria to think that your father died. That was easier to accept and understand. A simple reason why are alliance with Gaea had to end. Your father’s death was painful to everyone in Alexandria. Your mother was in deep sorrow, she waited and waited. She wouldn’t accept your father is dead not until she finds the body. Everyone thought she was going crazy for she kept on saying that Remus will return. She became weaker and weaker until the day she died.”
“It was too painful for Ellie. You were still a baby then and I swore I would never let you feel that kind of pain. I will protect you and I would never let anyone hurt you. Remember that whatever I am doing is for your own good. If Alexandria will continue to suffer, you will suffer. And I cant let that happen. Even if I lose Alexandria to Galandela I would do it, but you would not lose anything if you marry the Galandelan prince…Even if there’s no feud between our kingdom and Gaea, there’s no way that Gaea can help us. I doubt it if Aoshi of Reiyu can do anything. So please understand, this is the best that I can do. ”

Aishira froze and clutched the sword tightly in her hand. She wasn’t listening, it was strange. She had flashes of faces in front of her.  She has been having this visions and nightmares ever since Gaea had become dark in the sky.
Could Gaea possibly have anything to do with my nightmares?
She can’t breathe and can’t utter a word. She was hallucinating; a dragon, a young man, and some people were reaching out to her. She could hear his brother but she could not understand it. She cannot concentrate. He was talking about the arranged marriage and was convincing her to do it for Alexandria.
No!
She wanted to scream but some power was overcoming her…
“Aishira are you alright?” asked Solaicca.
Elias stopped and changed his expression to worry, “Aishira?”
She struggled so hard to wake up from her trance.
“I hate you!!! why did you hide this from me? how could you? you fooled me for so many years. This the only thing you can do?! I thought you said you wanted to protect me? Your merely sentencing me to death!” Aishira cried and ran out of the room.
Elias was left stunned by what his sister said,
she hates me now, but I am not giving her away…I am just protecting Alexandria and her. I am just doing what I ought to do.
What have I done to my sister?

Lord Alonzo ran after the girl and saw her staring into space, her back sliding against the wall, with tears flowing down her cheek. He noticed something else was going on Aishiram, as if she was seeing an imaginary enemy that she had to fight. He feared of this, and was even scared to get near his granddaughter. A year ago, he went to a fortuneteller and told him that his granddaughter was bound to suffer not in Alexandria but in another kingdom. It was by a power beyond an ordinary man. The fortuneteller was unaware to what will happen but warned the Prime Minister that there would be signs. He did not believe the fortuneteller until recently his granddaughter told him about visions and nightmares. Nobody knew about the fortuneteller had said but him, since who would believe such fate and he does not like to scare his grandchildren.
The kingdom that was bound to inflict suffering on Aishira for sure was not Galandela. It was something to do about dragons that he assumed it must be Gaea. King Remus soldier said that he saw a monstrous shadow; could it be the dragon haunting Aishira? This was one of the reasons why he totally forbids it to make alliance again with Gaea. Nevertheless, it seems that no matter what he does, such fate is after his granddaughter. Seeing her face aghast and ghost-stricken, she must be under a spell. He went near her and alas!
Her eyes were not blinking, “don’t go near grandfather…” and Aishira stood up and went inside and locked herself inside the room.

Prologue:Gaea

Posted by storyteller at 11:49 AM on March 8, 2005.

Gaea At the time when the eldest son of the king of Felea, the capital of Gaea, was of age to be proclaimed as ruler, the father refused to. The father has chosen his younger son to be his successor, but he did not tell anyone yet of his plans, he fears that this may cause chaos in the kingdom and most of all his family. Dune, the eldest son, could not accept the thought that his younger brother, Aoshi, might be the crowned king. His father was delaying his proclamation and says the time has not for him to descend the throne. Dune was always jealous of his younger brother who was liked by everyone and most of all favored by his father. Nevertheless, he said to himself, that it is all right, since in the future he will be king. It was something he considered that is superior over Aoshi. Aoshi never thought of the competition between him and his older brother. To him, Dune was the king and he had always looked up to him. The King knew Dune was competing with the younger Aoshi. Indeed, he knew for a fact that Dune was the rightful successor and Dune’s skills were superior to Aoshi. However, Dune was unworthy to be king, the day Dune was born the king was devastated when he found out that Dune was destined to bring destruction to Gaea. He did not have the heart of a king, unlike the younger Aoshi. It was apparent that Dune’s intentions of becoming a king were contrary to what a king should be. Because Dune sees Aoshi as a threat to the throne, he attempted to drown his brother one stormy night, when they went sailing into the sea. The King found out of his plans and was able to save Aoshi. Dune watched his father and brother under the moonlight; he felt ashamed of what he did but hatred and jealousy filled his heart at the same time. Accidentally, he was knocked off by the strong wind that blew. The king tried to save his son but it was too late. They searched for his body but it was never been found. Everybody thought he was dead. Aoshi was now the sole heir to the throne by the Reiyu Black Dragon lineage. The King thought that perhaps destiny itself made way for Aoshi to be king. And so, when Aoshi was of age to be proclaimed as king, the King finally descended the throne. Everyone was in jubilation for their new king. However, they were oblivious to the brewing plan of Dune to take revenge against his family and Felea. Dune survived the night he drowned from the ship and woke up lying on the shores of Androcus, the land of the dark mystics. He knew then the place was perfect and the people were only to exultant to welcome the prodigal prince. He later on found out that Aoshi will be proclaimed as the successor of King. Dune learned to use the dark mystical powers became stronger, no one can stop him to take over Gaea. He changed his name and was known to Androcusians as Lord Zuichio. Zuichio returned to Felea to take his revenge. He destroyed the heart of Felea, the Reiyuian Palace and all the people who dwell near it. He killed his father with his own hands. Aoshi’s mother Suzume saw the murder of his husband and knew Aoshi was next. She ran to save her son to keep him away from his brother. Zuichio hunted down for Aoshi and saw Lady Suzume arguing with Aoshi, “Run Aoshi! Save yourself. You’re the only one left to save Gaea! Run!” Olo their loyal servant took Aoshi as the queen had commanded. Zuichio saw that his brother was going away, but Olo had the ability to jump far and high that Zuichio had no chance of following them. Instead, Zuichio took his stepmother who was very weak as a prisoner and locked her in a dungeon. Zuichio knew that to gain power over Gaea he must summon the destructive power of the dragon, Uruha. He learned about the dragon through the Book of the Black Dragon kept in the temple of Uruha in Androcusia. He wished for the annihilation of Gaea to bring forth a new world where he would reign and the Uruha Black Dragon can deliver the glory he desires. To summon the dragon, Zuichio must offer the blood of a pure-hearted woman. He couldn’t think of anyone better but the Lady Suzume. He threw the very weak Lady Suzume into the flames and summoned Uruha. However, Zuichio was not aware of the five elements that would be released upon the summoning. The only element Zuichio received and knew all about was the power of the Black blood. The second one was the soul of Uruha’s Wife, and its spirit went away. The armor and the two other elements unknown to Zuichio did not appear. The Black Blood that was flowing from the fire turned into a black globe and floated in the air. The globe spoke and it was the voice of Uruha. Uruha told Zuichio that the armor chooses to whom he will descend upon; to anyone who belongs to the bloodline of the Black Dragon. The fourth element was the mystical goddess and it is the bearer of the power of the Black Blood to awaken her. The fifth and the last element is the sword maiden who will come forth on her own at the time of the king’s need. Zuichio was disappointed, He did not know about the secrets of the Black Dragon. Nevertheless, he called upon the mystical goddess. Unfortunately, the mystical goddess from Endemion and the armor chose another man, and the man was Aoshi of Reiyu. Thus, the war between the brothers began.
